10-22mph W 14°C 4/8 cumulus increasing quickly to 6/8 Reverse takeoff in strong conditions but went well, apprehensive about a rough tow but was fine, turned into lift with some circling but short lasting. Climbing reasonably so began down wind, continued upwards but ground became shady and list height, some difficulty finding a field to land in without horses but settled for a field next to services but was ploughed and very thermic leading to a tricky decent and uncomfortable arrival. Managed to hitch a ride up the A1 to meet Mick. Very pleased with first XC.
